A few weeks ago I got to meet this sweet family at their gorgeous East Nashville Home. Baby Owen was so amazing and relaxed for his session and I had a great time getting to know his parents. Mom Emily is a pediatric dentist and she graciously put up with my many questions since my own crew was a few days away from their first checkup. It was so awesome to photograph these beautiful spaces and I hope to see this family again soon!

I was so excited when Katie contacted me abut a newborn session for her baby daughter. She is an extremely talented calligrapher and runs Bunny and Bear Paper, and it just so happens that she is the creator of my lovely logo! She also designed a stunning tattoo that lives on my husband’s shoulder forever, so to say I admire her talent is an understatement.

It was no surprise that when I arrived at their apartment that it was so thoughtfully styled and wonderfully decorated. I am so lucky to get to photograph gorgeous spaces like their’s! These are just a few of my favorites from their session. Hallie is such a beautiful baby and I hope to get to photograph her again soon!

This is my sister Nina and her (now) fiancé Cody. Cody planned an awesome proposal for her under the Christmas lights at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, and he contacted me to schedule and engagement session for them for the next day. She had no idea and was so surprised!

We decided to head to Arrington Vineyards for their session and we had some great blue skies and clear winter weather. Nina and Cody, I miss you lots and can’t wait to see you and your little family soon!

This fall I had the pleasure of shooting some Berry College engagement photos for Jenna and Thomas. They are getting married this year in Georgia and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding! I miss these fantastic colors and this setting was just perfect for capturing that fall feeling.

These are a few of my favorites from their session. Jenna and Thomas, it was wonderful getting to know you and I had such a fun time with you guys! I will see you again in just a few short months!

Nagisa is a mom of two that got in touch with me this fall for photos of her and her family. Her kids Niko and Koh are the CUTEST and were so well behaved at their session. This Murfreesboro family photo session took place at Old Fort Park and we had some great light and nice weather to work with that day.

It was a pleasure to meet them and see those adorable little smiles! Here are a few of my favorites from their session, I hope you enjoy them!

2016 was a pretty amazing year for me when it comes to lifestyle film newborn photography sessions. I love love love these sessions and I’ve been so fortunate to be able to shoot such amazing families and houses. Coincidentally, three of my favorites for the year were all of baby boys named Henry! This sweet baby Henry came a little bit earlier than anticipated and was such a sweet little squish.

Paige (Henry’s mom) and I had discussed her visions for the session in the months prior to his arrival, and I was completely in awe of their Clarksville, TN home when I arrived. The decor was so beautiful and every room was spotless, which Paige tells me was all thanks to grandma who stayed to help them during Henry’s first days. The best surprise was when I walked in to Henry’s nursery. WOW. Seriously, one of the most gorgeous spaces I have ever seen. It was so clear that Paige put so much time and thought into every detail of the room and it was so serene and calming. Even the book on Henry’s shelf ‘Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile’ had significance as it is an homage to their last name.

I have said it so many times before, but I really do love photographing lifestyle film newborn sessions at my client’s homes. Newborn sessions take a while, and babies this young usually eat somewhat constantly and need frequent breaks. Everyone is still healing, and it is so much nicer for mom and dad not to have to pack everything up and try to be somewhere on time. Plus you get to include your environment, which is so much a part of the memories of your first days together as a family.

I had a wonderful time photographing this session and I hope to see this family again soon!

Christina and Jacob recently celebrated their second anniversary and contacted me about shooting a Nashville cotton field photo session for them as their gift to one another. So far they have been going by the traditional anniversary gifts each year, and since the second anniversary gift is cotton they figured there was no better way to incorporate that tradition. I loved this idea, and I actually had another second anniversary cotton sessions that same week!

This fall was a bit of a challenge with the cotton harvest schedule. Those who live in the state of Tennessee know how dry it was, ultimately leading to many wildfires in our area, and because of the weather the cotton was harvested unexpectedly early. Thankfully we scheduled just in time and had our session the week before this field was harvested. This cotton field is located at Sam Davis home in Smyrna, TN and is so beautiful during the late fall and early winter. If you are interested in booking a Nashville cotton field photo session, ideal session dates here in the Nashville/Murfreesboro area are typically between late October and early December (depending on the field).

Cristina and Jacob decided that a mini session would be perfect for what they were hoping for, which was great because I offer mini sessions all year long (you can read more about custom photo session sizing here). They live out of town and were on a weekend anniversary getaway during their trip to the Nashville area. Christina is in the Air Force and it was so interesting learning about what she does. It was great meeting them and I hope to photograph them again next year!

Last month I got a call from this beautiful family in need of their first Christmas card photos since the addition of their new baby girl. They graciously invited me out to their Nashville home, where we shot the photos. I had such a great time getting to know them!

Here are a few of my favorites from their session. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

I am so excited about all the wonderful couples I have gotten to photograph this year! Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Kayla and Shawn’s engagement session on and around the Pedestrian Bridge in Nashville.

Kayla and Shawn are such awesome people. I got to know them over coffee at their pre-wedding consultation and they were so nice and friendly. They are originally from Illinois; Shawn is a lawyer and Kayla is a special education teacher. They had their pick of where they could move for their careers and they chose Nashville.

Since Nashville is a city they love and a big part of their new life together, they wanted to have their engagement photos taken on the Pedestrian Bridge, with the Nashville skyline in the background. This is such a great location and we stopped at a few different spots in the area for photos.

Kayla and Shawn, thank you so much for letting me photograph this session for you guys and I cant wait to photograph your wedding at Traveller’s Rest Plantation next year!

Here are a few favorites from this engagement session. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
